Former customers of 9 years and never returning

We were customers at Paradise Pet Resort for 9+ years. We stopped going in May 2024 after my dog suffered severe chemical burns in his mouth and gums while boarding at this facility. The extent of his injuries only became apparent after he was seen at pet ER. My dog's condition was so bad he had to stay overnight and had to be on 5 medications, including codeine, to help with the pain.

The owner, has been indifferent and non-responsive to all communication throught this ordeal. The manager only keeps telling us they will relay to, but not a word from the owner. We were loyal customers who spent thousands of $ in almost a decade of patronizing this business. This recent ordeal cost us $3800 in vet bills and sleepless nights.

I gain nothing from posting this truthful and accurate account. My only hope is no one goes through what we did, which was to see our dog suffer needlessly. No one from Paradise Pet Resort noticed and no one called us to tell us anything was wrong while he was boarding. The owner is so cowardly and sends the manager to talk to us. There is zero compassion and accountability.

I will post photos taken by the vet showing the extent of the burns on my dog's tongue and gums.

One of the vet techs told me I should have known this was a bad facility given the rotating staff and large # of dogs compared to staff. Look at the videos yourself. I was in denial for long and failed to see the poor conditions at this facility. Don't let your dog experience what our little guy had to endure.

    Never Again!

I read the reviews and among the bad there were some that really loved the place. So I decided to give it a try for myself. Well I wish I didn’t

    Never Again

I have used Paradise Pet Resort for boarding, day care, and grooming for many years, but will never go back due to the deteriorating conditions I have seen there. The staff I have encountered on recent visits all seem very inexperienced in dog behavior. Several employees seemed to be either high school students, or very early college. I question if there is any training provided to them in dog handling and behavior. I gave the staff specific instructions on my dog, which weren’t followed. I spoke with the manager on duty (Mary) who did not seem to have a lot of knowledge about dogs either. Several times my dog’s bed came back to me soaked with urine after boarding my dog while I was on vacation. My dog is house trained, so must not be taken out early enough in morning. This facility may be somewhat okay if your dog has no special medical needs, and loves all other dogs and people and is laid back. Other than that, I wouldn’t recommend them. Even at that, dogs aren’t getting out like they need to in order to potty. I would possibly use them if they had better trained, more knowledgeable staff. Their current young staff seems to have a lot of employee drama that I’ve seen from time to time when I go there.

    Worst Employees

My dog went here for a week, and he will never go back. The employees that watch the dogs just hangout on their cell phones while the dogs aimlessly walk around. If I'm paying for daycare, I expect my high energy dog to get some exercise. Each time I picked him up he was crying because he had to go the the bathroom so bad, so he obviously wasn't walked or comfortable enough to go. He was also dehydrated. Not a good place for your pet.

*UPDATE* We got desperate for daycare for one week and went back... big mistake. My poor baby sprained his shoulder, got kennel cough, and had bad stomach problems.. all from 3 days at this place. If you care for your pet, please son't go here. They even offer a free day for a 5 star review on yelp, so I wouldn't trust those either.
