    Previously a boomtown bar, railroad layover, hotel, house of "ill repute," and starting point for loggers and miners, the building housing The Snake Pit has been a landmark for over a century. Now a dog-friendly restaurant, The Snake Pit offers a table out front, and a deck to the side--open on the weekends--for dog owners wanting to enjoy a plate of Rocky Mountain Oysters alongside Fido. Its menu includes breakfast items, appetizers, soups, salads, chili, burgers, sandwiches, bar-b-que, Fish and Chips, baskets of chicken and shrimp, steaks, and more. Diners with room for dessert can indulge in Lemon Meringue Pie or Huckleberry Ice Cream. The Snake Pit is open Sunday through Thursday from 8am to 8pm and Friday through Sunday from 8am to 9pm.       Very Unfriendly Place

      Arrived to find 6-8 cars in the parking lot. We went in to ask about the patio and were told by a waitress that we had to ask another waitress if we could sit outsside with our dogs. She rudely told us no because they didnt have enough waitstaff. Very unwelcoming. We won't try this place again.
      This is sad because the building has a lot of history and we were really looking forward to visiting.

      Dog friendly on the deck. Bar type food with great open spaces and kids menu.
